The number of shops increases

110 new shop openings

Rossmann intends to continue its high expansion rate in 2012 by opening about 110 new health and beauty shops in Germany. Rossmann is a pioneer health and beauty retailer: Rossmann shops have an average of 450 m² floor space, stocking an extensive range of products with about 17,500 different items. On average, each shop generates annual sales of EUR 2.2m. 1.2 million customers shop at Rossmann each day.

In addition to the growing number of shops, headquarters in Burgwedel is also expanding. The new headquarter building was finished in 2011, bringing enough space for headquarter and logistics staff. The new building with its energy-saving, ecological concept also stands for the social involvement and sustained actions which are at the core of this owner-managed company.

Number of employees on the rise

1,000 new jobs

Meanwhile, Dirk Rossmann GmbH provides secure jobs for more than 20,000 employees in approximately 1,600 shops in Germany. About 1,500 people work in the 68,000 m² central warehouse in Landsberg and in the five other regional warehouses in Burgwedel, Leverkusen, Apfelstaedt, Kiel and Bergkirchen. Rossmann's headquarters is based in Burgwedel, Lower Saxony, providing diverse jobs and responsibilities for over 1,000 employees.

Strong growth continues at Rossmann! About 600 new full-time and part-time jobs will accompany the 110 new shop openings and the new headquarter building. Rossmann will also provide 400 new apprenticeships. The total number of apprentice trainees at Rossmann will thus exceed 1,000 across Germany. A pleasing fact: a high percentage of apprentices continue to work for Rossmann once their apprenticeship is finished: the number in the shops is again at 80 per cent and in headquarters 100 per cent stayed on.
